Maka Albarn Cosplay Scythe?

I plan on Cosplaying as Maka Albarn from Soul Eater. I am a big fan of Soul Eater, but I have no idea what the Material I can use for their Sense? My main concern is not the blade of the handle. Also if anyone knows any place I can shoes, as you say, that would be great! ^ __ ^ Thx

I'm an amateur at cosplaying myself, so my suggestion might not seem that much work. But like the blade with about modeling Paper mache? It is quite easy to make if it is still wet, and if it's tough, it is clear and beautiful. As for shoes, how about new shoes out of nothing? No Need for frills or all items that only light materials such as cardboard and paint. I remembered that there used to be a cosplayer Maka Alban once in an event I've attended - she won first prize for his Maka. If I remember correctly, it simply is used to help around the top of her, to the character - and a blonde dyed hair XD.
