Sango Cosplay Costume

Please help us to a decent quality cosplay costume?
In December there will be (yes, I'm a nerd) is an anime / comic convention. I plan on going as Sango from Inuyasha. One problem: I'm broke. I need a few tips on how to make a costume for my Sango, without going into bankruptcy. (I do not plan to buy $ 100 in full costume from eBay with a $ 40 s & h fee. Yet not even try to suggest.) I look as realistic as possible, and I would like to try and keep it ALPAP want. (as low as possible, and reasonably priced). Note: I am trying to look their "normal get" You do not look like her struggle, but either one is fine.
