How do you make a zero-mask?

I LOVE code geass and thought I would be zero for an Anime convention in a few months I will cosplay. I thought to the purchase of a mask until I learned how much it was: o I will make was to my own, but cannot find instructions. The only thing that comes to mind is a bicycle helmet, huge as those of polystyrene. Make a small hole in the front for the geass eye and a piece of fabric across the back. It would take forever and a day, but it certainly beats the ridiculous Prices. You can also google it. I'm sure there are whole forums, how-to do so. =] Hope I helped.
