My contact lenses have powers of DD -0.25 and -0.50. What does it mean "D"?

I am currently trying to colored contacts cosplay to buy online. To contact my choice, lenses have the powers of -0.50 and -0.25, but my current lenses have powers "D -0.50" and "D -0.25. Does this mean anything and will always affect -0.50 and -0.25 without the "D" my vision? If help, my current contact lenses are UltraFlex II Aspheric. The colored contacts I look forward to the FreshLook Colors. Thank you.

D means diopter, a unit of the power of the lens. -0.50 And -0.25 in effect, mean D and D -0.50 and -0.25. There is no difference between -0.50 and -0.50 D and -0.25 D and -0.25.
