What do I get for fibreglassing cosplay armor need?

I already have a small sander and paper masks at home - I need something else? Will it be easier to do fibreglassing outside (if it is not windy)? Can I cut the mat with scissors, or I should do something else? Finally, how easy it is to paint fiberglass? I use a combination of email-color () for data and spray paint - should I sand the roughness of the surface first, or the spray stick if it smooth?

Ok ... First question is, use epoxy or polyester. I would use poly because it is easier to color / paint after it sets. Second ... They need to have to make molds for shapes ...
